Hi, I'm Hextern's AI assistant. I can answer your questions about services, prices and timelines, or help you work out where to start.
The method
Before we start we define the problem, the goals, the solution, the scope, the costs and the timings. During the project we share progress and the main decisions, so you always know what we are doing and why.
01 - Analysis and proposal
The project starts with a briefing call where we look at the current situation, the goals, the priorities, the users and the constraints. We do not start from a technology or a predefined package: we look for the solution that makes most sense for the result you want.
After the analysis you receive a clear proposal with the planned activities, the scope of the project, indicative timings, the investment and the commercial terms.
How it starts
A call to bring the problem to be solved, and the priorities, into focus.
What it actually takes to reach that result, before any tooling.
Activities, scope, indicative timings and commercial terms.
You know what will be built, and what it costs, before it starts.
02 - Getting started
Once the proposal is approved we set the project up and everything needed to proceed: materials, access, responsibilities, timings and how we communicate.
What we agree before starting
Payment follows the moments agreed in the commercial proposal: usually a deposit to start the project and the balance on delivery.
On larger engagements the payment is split into interim milestones, defined before anything begins.
Typical milestones
Anything outside the initial scope is always assessed and approved before it is built.
No additional cost without discussion and approval.
03 - Build and review
During development we run recurring progress reviews (work-in-progress reviews, or WIP) where we show what has been built, gather feedback and agree the next steps.
They exist so the project is checked as it goes, and so the important decisions can be changed before the final stage, when changing direction costs far more.
The working cycle
The middle steps repeat for the whole of the project: every increment is shown, discussed and corrected before we move on.
We involve you in the decisions that affect the result, without passing you the project’s technical complexity.
You decide on what concerns the result: priorities, content, features, what comes first and what can wait. The technical choices stay ours, along with the responsibility for standing behind them.
Hextern stays the project’s central point of reference even when outside specialists are involved.
You are not the one coordinating designers, developers or other professionals: you have one contact for the whole project.
04 - Go-live and after
Before publication we run the final checks, collect approval and handle going live.
15 days
15 days of post-launch support included on projects that go online or into production.
A project is only really used once it is published. After release we stay available to check that everything works in real use, to deal with any faults in what was built and to clarify how to use it.
New features, or work outside the agreed scope, are assessed separately.
After go-live
The project stays yours and you run it in-house or with your own people, as agreed.
Hosting, domain, technical management, maintenance and support handled by us through the monthly plans.
If you would rather not deal with the technical side, you can hand it to Hextern through the monthly plans: you focus on your business and we handle the rest.
The choice stays yours: no ongoing plan is compulsory.
Ownership and access
The code, the approved assets, the credentials and the domain are yours. The domain is registered in your name.
If you stop the monthly management, our hosting and maintenance end with it. The project stays yours and can be moved elsewhere.
Let’s talk
Tell us what you want to achieve. We’ll work out together which solution is worth building.
