E-commerce

Turn interest and products into an experience that leads to a purchase

We design stores made to carry the customer from finding a product to paying for it, while making orders, content and day-to-day management simpler.

Putting products online is not enough

Every obstacle between interest and purchase can become a lost sale

Confusing navigation, unclear product pages, complicated checkouts or fragmented internal management can hold back even a good product. A store has to work for the person buying and for the person running it.

Where the sale breaks

  • The customer can’t find it

The catalogue and the navigation make it hard to reach the right product quickly.

  • The value isn’t clear

Images, information and structure don’t do enough to support the buying decision.

  • The checkout gets in the way

Too many steps, or too little clarity, push abandonment up before the payment.

  • Management is heavy

Orders, products, messages and separate tools create manual work that could be avoided.

Who it is for

When it makes sense to build a store around the project

It suits you when selling online has to become a reliable process, not just a shop window bolted onto a website.

  • Brands opening a first store

To start selling with a structure ready to carry the catalogue, the orders and the growth.

  • Businesses outgrowing what they have

To move past a setup that limits content, flows or the quality of the experience.

  • Complex catalogues

For products, variants, filters or commercial rules that need a precise structure.

  • Connected selling

To link the store to a CRM, to automation, to a management system or to other tools already in use.

The process comes before the shop

If the catalogue, the logistics, the margins or the operational responsibilities are not settled yet, the priority is settling them. A digital project can organise and connect them, but it cannot stand in for the commercial decisions that have to drive it.

What’s included

What the e-commerce project can contain

We select the functions needed to let people buy clearly and to run the store without multiplying the work. The scope depends on the real catalogue, processes and integrations.

  • Catalogue architecture

Categories, variants and relationships designed so people find the right product.

  • Purchase-oriented UX/UI

Journeys and components that remove doubt and unnecessary steps.

  • Product pages

Information, images and visual priorities that make comparing and deciding easier.

  • Search and filters

Tools that keep the store navigable as the catalogue and the variants grow.

  • Cart and checkout

A payment flow that is clear, responsive and free of superfluous steps.

  • Payments and shipping

Methods, rules and messages configured around how you actually sell and deliver.

  • Order management

States, notifications and operations organised to make the daily work simpler.

  • Measurement and technical SEO

Usage data and the technical foundations needed to understand and improve the store.

  • Operational integrations

CRM, management systems, automation and external systems connected where they create value.

15 days of post-launch support included

After going live we stay available to check that purchases, payments and order handling work in real use, and to deal with any faults in what was built.

New features, or work outside the agreed scope, are assessed separately.

This is not a package with every function switched on. Before starting we establish what the customer needs, what the person running the shop needs, and which integrations genuinely earn a place in the first release.

Already have products, a catalogue or a store to rethink?

We start from what exists and find where the experience or the management is creating friction.

Let’s talk about the project

How we work

From the analysis to the first order handled

Every phase brings the buying experience and the internal operation together, so the launch does not leave the daily work outside the project.

Discover the Hextern method
  1. Analysis

We understand the business, the products, the users, the catalogue and the processes.

  2. Architecture

We define categories, navigation, checkout and operational flows.

  3. Design

We design the interface, the product pages and the main components.

  4. Development and integrations

We build the store and connect payments and external systems.

  5. Testing and launch

We check the checkout, the responsive behaviour, the performance, the orders and going live.

The path to an order

From the first product seen to the confirmed purchase

Selling is a continuous path: every step has to give the customer the information and the confidence they need to reach the next one.

  1. Discovers

Finds products and categories relevant to what they are looking for.

  2. Evaluates

Understands the features, the price and the value without looking elsewhere.

  3. Decides

Adds to the cart with the costs and conditions legible.

  4. Buys

Completes the payment and receives clear confirmation of what happens next.

Choosing

Which kind of store does the project need?

These are not rigid packages: they are three levels of complexity, useful for working out where to start and which systems have to work together.

  • Essential e-commerce

    Clear selling, straightforward processes.

For contained catalogues, simple rules and a buying journey focused on the functions that are needed.

    Suits you when

Contained catalogue, linear flows, first store

  • Advanced e-commerce

More catalogue, more logic, more control.

For complex catalogues, promotions, filters and custom behaviour that an essential setup does not cover.

    Suits you when

    Variants, commercial rules, bespoke functions

  • Connected e-commerce

Selling talks to the rest of the business.

When a CRM, automation, a management system, a warehouse or other systems have to exchange data with the store.

    Suits you when

Several tools, shared data, coordinated processes

Timings and investment

A starting reference, then a precise scope

The investment and the timings depend on the catalogue, the features, the integrations and how complex the processes are. The starting point lets you get your bearings; the final proposal describes what will be built and by when.

Timings defined per project

On quotation

When the store has to coordinate a lot of data or a lot of systems, we build the estimate on the actual functions and flows instead of publishing an arbitrary ceiling.

Configuration, testing of the buying flow, going live and 15 days of post-launch support included in the project.

The timings are indicative and run from the agreed start. Materials, the catalogue, integrations and revisions can change the duration.

The final proposal is agreed before the project starts. The duration and the start date are set after the analysis, with no promise of an immediate start.

After the 15 days of included post-launch support, ongoing management is optional. Projects managed by Hextern start on the Evolve plan, from €169 per month.

Stores with specific operational or infrastructure requirements are sized separately. Transaction fees, licences and external services are not included unless stated otherwise.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions about e-commerce

Answers to the decisions that genuinely affect running, launching and growing the store.

Yes. The project includes a management interface suited to the agreed activities, such as updating products, availability and orders. Before launch we define the roles and the operations that have to stay under your control.

It depends on the platform, the market and the selling model. We assess the providers that fit the project and configure the ones agreed, clarifying any external costs or constraints beforehand.

Yes, when the system offers APIs, connectors or reliable ways to exchange data. Before promising an integration we check the documentation, the limits and the responsibilities of the suppliers involved.

Often that is the sensible choice. We define a first release that is complete enough to sell and handle orders, leaving secondary functions and more complex integrations to later phases.

We can configure the rules, methods, costs and automatic messages the project provides for. The physical handling of shipments naturally stays with the business or with the logistics partner chosen.

Yes. The catalogue, the product pages, the cart and the checkout are designed and checked on mobile formats too, where a significant part of the buying journey often happens.

15 days of post-launch support are included, to check the store works properly through the first real orders and to deal with any faults in what was built. New features, or work outside the agreed scope, are assessed separately. After that period you can run the store yourself or hand us the ongoing maintenance and support.
